TE Sneak Peeks: Color Me!!

Mom, Thankful For You handmade card by Jen Shults. mother's day card, eclipse dies, embossed resist, deconstructingjen

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday. It’s been a rainy, snowy and gloomy couple of days here, I hope it’s sunny and warm where you are. 🙂 Today is day two of Taylored Expressions April Sneak Peeks. All of the fabulous products shown this week will be available for purchase from Taylored Expressions on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 7 am PST.

My first card today features a new background stamp, Color Me Background, that is absolutely stunning. I opted to go with embossed resist with this stamp because I wanted to highlight the beautiful lines of the stamp (as well as have an excuse to use that gorgeous new Guava ink!!). I inked the stamp with Versamark on my MISTI on Sugar Cube and then embossed using TE’s Fine Detail Embossing Powder in White. I sponged Lemon Meringue, Candy Corn and Guava ink over the embossed panel then once the ink was set I die cut that panel with Stitched Rectangle Stacklets.

For the centerpiece of the card I layered a vellum heart cut with Heart Stacklets, Cap Locks Mom cut from Earl Grey cardstock and the banner sentiment stamped on Poppy Seed with Versamark and embossed with TE Fine Detail Embossing Powder in Silver from Cap Locks Companion – Mom & Dad. I separated all the pieces with foam tape – hiding the tape for the vellum behind the letter dies.

My second card features an absolutely gorgeous new addition to the Big Blooms stamp line – Big Butterfly (I know it’s not a bloom but butterflies and flowers are a match made in heaven.). I started by stamping the butterfly on Sugar Cube with Oreo Ink and my MISTI and then I colored it with Copics. I would REALLY suggest die cutting this one before you color just in case the die slips.

After coloring and die cutting I added a little bit of Wink of Stella – Clear to some parts of the butterfly design for a little sparkle. I used a Sugar Cube cardbase and layered it with another piece of Sugar Cube sponged with Salt Water Taffy ink in the center. I attached the butterfly with foam tape and overlayed a sentiment from Cutting Edge – Flowers stamped and embossed on vellum. I added a few Snow Flurries sequins and the card was done!
