TE Sneak Peeks: Land of the Free and Hello!

God Bless the USA by Jen Shults, handmade card stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions, July 4th, independence day, glimmer paste, sponging, liquid watercolor

Hi everyone! Today I have two new cards to share with you for Taylored Expressions June Release Sneak Peeks! We will be sneak peeking new products all this week with all of the new goodies available for purchase June 7, 2018 at 7 am PST.

My first card today uses four new products – Here Comes the Sun Stencil, Caps Lock – USA dies, Land of the Free stamp set and Land of the Free die. I started by using some of the new liquid watercolor to create a gradient background from Cherry Pop to Blue Corn on watercolor cardstock. After this dried I applied NUVO Glimmer Paste in Moonstone through the Scatter Stars Stencil. While this was drying in used the Here Comes the Sun Stencil to sponge on the background stripes using Sugar Cube ink on Blue Corn cardstock (cardbase). I heat set the ink lightly and by then the Glimmer Paste was dry.

I die cut the Land of the Free die cut from the watercolor panel and then die cut the Caps Lock – USA from the center saving all the pieces. I die cut Caps Lock – USA three more times from Blue Corn to give the letters height. After assembly of the map to the cardbase and the letters I stamped the smaller sentiment on Blue Corn with Versamark and heat embossed using TE’s Fine Detail Embossing Powder in white. I die cut this with the smallest Double Ended Flag Banner die and attached it to the center of the USA letters using foam tape.

My second card today features a new product designed to work with a previously existing die – a new backer die to go with the Hello Script die, actually all of the script dies – and a couple new ones are all getting backer dies to go with them! The backer dies are made using the Multi-Media die feature allowing you to cut multiple thicknesses of cardstock or thicker material like chipboard.

To start my card I made a horizontal A2 cardbase and then trimmed a Sugar Cube panel to go on top. I sponged the center of the panel with Confetti Cake ink and then die cut the Hello Script Backer Die out of the center. This allowed me to inlay the Hello Script die out of Oreo (x3 layers). I popped the sponged panel up on foam tape and then centered the Hello Script inside. I added a strip of Paper from the Hello Sunshine 6×6 Paper Pack and flowers from the Fresh Florals stamp set. To finish off I added a few sequins from the Snow Flurries Sequin pack.
