With Sympathy
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Friday. I have a couple of projects to share with you today. I was in need of sympathy cards as we had a loss in our family recently and I wanted to send off some special cards to family members as we were not able to make the journey to the celebration of life. I combined some products from Spellbinders and Taylored Expressions for these projects. I’ve been wanted to dig into these Club Blooms and Be Bold Blooms for awhile now so this was a perfect project for it. (Club Blooms may be sold out – they were a part of the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month club and when they are gone they are gone.) Each of these cards measures 5×7.
These first three cards primarily use Club Blooms along with a sentiment from Taylored Expressions Handwritten Sympathy sentiment set. I love this sentiment style – it’s so perfect for these flowers!
For each card I did a little bit of a different background but created the flower clusters essentially the same way – I started with a large flower in the center I then filled in with leaves/twigs/branches around it. To extend to fill the space I added additional smaller flowers veritically and then filled in with leaves/branches around them smaller flowers. To finish I added tiny flowers to fill holes.
The background of this first card was kept simple with just a few embossed lines created with an Embossing Buddy.
In this card I inked the edges of the base with tone on tone ink and added a gold foil frame from Frame in Frame 3 from Taylored Expressions.
These next two use a gorgeous embossing folder from Spellbinders (Beveled Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder) that I need to figure out how to use correctly – it about broke my die cutting machine – I think I need a different platform, but it’s still gorgeous none the less!
On this card you may noticed the flowers are different as this card uses flowers from the Be Bold Blooms Spellbinders die set. This one is still available and is a great option if you don’t have the Club Blooms. I chaned up my colors a little on this one as well and they are all listed below.
